Skype Rock Out!
Jamie is now offering Skype tuition - allowing students to receive real-time, high quality audio and HD video direct from the studio. A tried and tested method used all over the world, these live sessions enable you to chat, explore and improve your playing in a down-to-earth and proven format from the comfort of your very own home, bedroom or office.
How does it work?

What do I need to get started?
To get lessons using Skype, you'll need:

    A modern computer or laptop
    The Skype software (totally free!)
    A web camera (webcam)
    A soundcard and speakers
    A moderately fast internet connection (> 3Mbps)
    Your guitar!

How much does it cost?
Skype lessons with Jamie cost just £35 per hour. You can pay via PayPal and we have a form in the student area that allows to book your slot and pay instantly.
What do I get?
You get an hour's tuition with Jamie, which includes:

PDF's of Jamie's own course content
    MP3 backing tracks
    Structured lessons based around you
HD quality video with zoom for close-ups on hands
Jamie's vocals and guitar are run via a mixer (not a webcam mic)

How do I get started?
All sessions must be paid for up-front, via PayPal, before Jamie can book you in. On initial enquiry, Jamie will ask you for preferred dates and times, and once settled upon, full payment guarantees the slot. If payment is not made 48 hours prior to the session, Jamie cannot guarantee that you will get it. There are absolutely no refunds for no-shows or cancellations, period.
Once you book your session, you'll receive Jamie's Skype email address and you'll be added to his Skype contacts.
Unsolicited attempts at connecting to Jamie's Skype account will fail.
How many lessons will I need?
Hmmm. How long is the proverbial piece of string? Many students sign up for a complete course of lessons whereas some might just want help with a specific aspect of their playing. It's really up to you to set the pace and the number of sessions.
Watch this space for updates and taster sessions very soon!

Hyde Park with Kerry Ellis and Brian May
Hey everyone...Just to let you know that I will not be performing at the Cardiff Blackstar clinic on September 9th.
The clinic will be going ahead, but I had to cancel due to last minute rehearsals for a show I have been asked to do. Now for the show - I shall be performing along side West End/Broadway singing star Kerry Ellis, and legendary Queen guitarist Brian May.
We are performing at the Last Night of the Proms at Hyde Park on September 11th. The concert will be shown live on both BBC1, BBC2 and also aired live on Radio 1 and Radio 2. We begin rehearsals the week of the 6th of September. I'll keep you posted on the rehearsals and the show.
Cheers, Jamie
Update!
Check out the Video page for footage of the show (how cool to be introduced by the almighty Terry Wogan - Ed).

Welcome!
This is the official website for UK based guitarist Jamie Humphries.
We've been offline for a while (ahem!), and Jamie has been so busy jet-setting (and fretting) around the world, that we've only just got round to putting the new site together. We're building the site as we go, so please bear with us and feel free to offer your suggestions for improvement and what you'd like to see up here.
In the meantime, enjoy your visit and don't forget to check out Jamie's MySpace page for bleeding-edge news and gigs until we get the new website plugged into, what is now, quite a different internet.
Thanks for visiting :)

May 2010
Hey everyone...
I'm pretty bad with updates..need to get on here a little more regular!. Quite a bit of news...
Blackstar amps have been keeping me very very busy, with various clinics in the UK, plus some double headers with Musicman Guitars.. I also performed at the Frankfurt show in Germany, launching the the HT Venue series, and previewing the new HT Delay, Reverb and Modulation Pedals..After Germany, it was off to Japan, where I performed for Blackstar on the Young Guitar Magazine DVD, demonstrating the new amps and pedal, plus I got to perform a couple of tunes off my album, so am really excited about that..The magazine and DVD is due out in either the July or August issue.

I have also been hard at work working on a few features for Guitar Techniques Magazine, including some SRV, Genesis, plus a style file on AC/DC..I have more features coming up in the Magazine..Also I ave been back at Lick Library and am proud to announce I am working on a new Van Halen DVD, which is sounding great so far.
Thats pretty much it for now, other than I have begun working on some new instrumentals, thought it was about time I wrote some new material..also the online webcam lessons on Skype are going great, so if any of you are interested then drop me a line. I shall be working soon on two different pricings, one for a standard video lesson, and the other for the lesson plus a copy of the video feed..i have to just sort a few technical issues out first. I shall also be adding up the tour dates for Champions of Rock in Sweden shortly..this tour will be great...we are playing some very nice Arena's in Sweden. I am also still up at We Will Rock You in London...so hope to see ya there.
Cheers, Jamie
